What do I value?

I value education.

In education I value students, teachers, parents and community members.

I value education. I value education because having an education means having the ability to change ones own future. I value the assumption and idea that everyone can control their own destiny and their future by receiving an education. People are able to change their own economic status by receiving an education, whether that is an education in a major institution or a vocational education, people are able to change their own financial situation and economic status.

I value students. I value students because without students there is no need to have schools, or education. Students are the reason, or should be the reason, that anyone is in the education field. All teachers, teacher leaders and community members should value students, and the fact that the students of today are the leaders, thinkers, problem solvers, and engineers for tomorrow. The students of today need an education in order to be successful tomorrow.

I value teachers. I value teachers because these are the people who are leading the youth of today along part of their educational journey. The teachers bring their own passion, wisdom and strengths to the classroom and impart knowledge to the future leaders, thinkers, problem solvers and engineers. Teachers are a great resource in implementing change, maintaining consistency, and are the source of passion in education.

I value parents. I value parents because without parents, or people who serve as the guide at home for young people, teachers cannot perform their duties. Without parent support and involvement schools are not successful as students are not taught to value education.

I value community members. I value community members because the values of the community members determines the strengths and funding for schools. In a community that does not value education the schools are not properly funded which in turn means students are not receiving a proper education. Community members that value education, teachers, students, and their own community will support schools, teachers, and parents. When community members make education a priority within the community the students in the community will hear about school, education and what having an education means by all members of the community, and not just at school or home.
